Biography
Susan Seaberry is a native of California, born to a mother that pursued a film career in Hollywood. Growing up in a world of colorful fantasy, full of images, undoubtedly influenced a creative path as an artist.
While in high school, Susan earned a scholarship to the prestigious Art Center School of Design. With her BA degree she began her professional journey as a fashion illustrator for department stores. Susan then expanded her career by collaborating with respected interior and clothing designers in Los Angeles, applying diversity and imagination. Her work could be seen on fabric, furnishings, murals, and paintings on canvas.
These experiences sparked even more ventures with exclusive hand-painted clothing and props for film sets. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a commission to design hand-painted pottery at a historic ceramic company in Umbria, Italy.
Her continued studies in art at UCLA, Otis Parsons, and the New York Art Students League encouraged experimentation and new sources of inspiration. She enjoys pushing artistic boundaries, always returning to fine art painting, often using the figure as subject and storytelling.
Whether exhibiting her art in galleries or accepting commissioned work, Susan embraces every opportunity to connect with the subject and the viewer.
Susan currently lives in a beach house in Ventura County where she occasionally teaches and is surrounded by art, family, and friends.
